Short answer
oturma.com is an independent guide for foreigners who live in Türkiye or plan to. It explains residence permit rules in plain language and links every rule to its official source. It is not a government agency, it is not connected to the Presidency of Migration Management (Göç İdaresi Başkanlığı), and it does not decide applications.[1]
What the name means
“Oturma” is a Turkish word for living somewhere. In everyday Turkish, a residence permit is often called an “oturma izni”; the official term is “ikamet izni”.
