Short answer

We use only official Turkish sources for rules, documents, deadlines and fees. Every claim is recorded with its source, the legal article and the date we opened it, and a separate review step opens each source again before a page is published. If we cannot confirm something, we leave it out.

Which sources we use

  • Laws and regulations on mevzuat.gov.tr, mainly Law No. 6458 and its Implementing Regulation.[1]
  • The Presidency of Migration Management (Göç İdaresi Başkanlığı) and its provincial directorates.[2]
  • The official document lists on e-İkamet.[3]
  • The Resmî Gazete (Official Gazette), for amendments and yearly fee tariffs.[4]

Consultancy websites, forums and social media are never used as sources. We only read them to understand what people ask.

How a page is checked

  1. Each factual sentence is linked to a source, with the article or paragraph where it applies.
  2. A separate review opens every source again and compares it with the sentence. Anything that does not match is corrected or removed.
  3. Before publishing, the page is checked for clarity and for wording that could suggest a guaranteed result.

Pages are drafted and checked with the help of AI tools, and every page is reviewed and approved by the site owner before it goes live.

When sources disagree

  • A law prevails over a regulation. Where the Implementing Regulation still shows older durations, we give the duration in the current Law.
  • Where Turkish and English official texts differ, we follow the Turkish text.
  • Where the official texts and Göç İdaresi’s current practice differ, we describe the current practice and show the legal text next to it.
  • If a conflict cannot be resolved, we do not publish that information and tell you to ask the provincial migration directorate.

Dates on each page

“Last checked” is the date we last opened the sources for that page. Fees are shown with the year of the tariff they come from, and fee pages are checked again when a new yearly tariff is published.
